This year was the hardest year of our marriage.

A year full of bad and thoughtless decisions, a year full of tears and sadness.

A year full of doubt, rejection and distance from each other.

It was a time when our marriage hung over the abyss, sticking to a tiny thread of hope.

This year showed us what matters most in life.

This year showed us that a shared life of two people is a never-ending trial that can be won only if we work together on each other.

So, here we are, enjoying the fact that we can gently celebrate another anniversary.

Together, we try to turn a small flame into a great fire again.

Hope dies last.
